i made pasta!

so i made pasta today because i didn't want to keep eating out all weekend. i only had noodles and sauce, and no meat or veggies or whatever (not even salt) so i couldn't really flavor it, but it still tasted pretty good :)

half a pound of noodles

asking mariel for help :D

bonus: a picture of my bike with small wheels. i have since switched the bike for the same one as my roommate's which blizzard lends out for the summer.

my bike (it's a foldable bike i got from my uncle because my usual was too big to fit in the car)

Haha...I'm glad you posted this, Alex, because I'm going to try to imitate your pasta-making process in a few weeks. :)

mariel says that pasta is done when you throw a noodle at the wall and it sticks. wise words ;) i think she's right because the pasta i ate was pretty well cooked :D

oh yeah, and i just got two more packs of pasta, two more jars of sauce, salt, and some spices. next time it'll be even more awesome :D

Dude, is it even al dente when you throw it at the wall and it sticks? Because that's the only way to eat pasta. (Says the pasta snob... :])

Also, I love the photo of Mariel's advice. "I placed it gently on the wall.." "NO! YOU THROW IT AT THE WALL"

for al denteness i'd say it's a little overcooked. but i overcooked it on top of mariel's test so i think it's still pretty accurate.
